Our Home Port at Allen Harbor, Harwichport

Allen Harbor Marine Service, Inc. in Harwich Port, Massachusetts was founded in 1927 to serve the boating needs of a private development of homes on Allen Harbor, not far from the elbow of Cape Cod.

Rupe Nichols went to work there for his brother-in-law in 1931 and twenty years later bought the business. Originally only a seasonal business, Allen Harbor Marine has grown into an active year-round marina known for its excellent customer service.

From one small 20'x40' building seventy years ago, Allen Harbor Marine now houses a large showroom, sales and business offices, distinctive nautical gift shop, new parts department and marine store and associated full-service mechanical, carpentry and fiberglass buildings. Although the 52 slips are leased on a seasonal basis, room can sometimes be found for transients and guests. Allen Harbor is a Town servicing agent for the harbor's mooring field and services more than 35 mooring customers yearly. Over one hundred boats are stored for the winter and along with boat and motor sales, 25-30 full-time employees are kept busy twelve months of the year.

Under the leadership of Rupe's son, Ren Nichols, President, the company has expanded its nautical gift mail order catalog business to include a uniform, trophy and plaque division that caters to yacht clubs, the United States Power Squadrons, cruise lines and other boating organizations. In addition, Commodore Uniform can also supply businesses and schools with in-house embroidered shirts, hats and jackets along with engraved trophies and personal items to meet any occasion.

As the company has grown, it has kept pace with changing times and technologies in order to continually reinforce its reputation as the best high-quality, customer-service-oriented business on one of the most beautiful coastlines in America.

Allen Harbor Marine invites you to visit any time of the year. It is located on Lower County Road in Harwich Port, one block south of Route 28 and accessible from either exit 9 or 10 off the Mid-Cape Highway, Route 6. You will find a full line of new and used cruising and fishing boats from inflatables and skiffs to 30-40' boats, and you won't want to miss browsing through the nautical gift shop.

Allen Harbor Marine is a boat dealer for Pursuit, Albemarle Sportfishing & Proline Boats, Zodiac inflatables, and Honda 4-stroke outboards. We also service a wide range of other boats and motor, including Evinrude, Johnson and Yamaha outboards. For maintenance and repairs we offer full service with certified technicians.
